Description:
Anti-shooting device

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to an apparatus and method for deaccelerating of fluidized material.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In dosing devices, such as dosing devices in the cement industry, there are some difficulties dosing segregated material. Dosing the so accumulated fine grains leads in the silo outlet to shooting of the material. The shooting will stop after the "accumulated nest" is empty. Shooting leads to overflow and inaccuracy in dosing paired with dust generation.

It is desired to mitigate the above-mentioned problems, namely stopping shooting by an anti-shooting device. In the state of the art, this will be hedged by high webs that build then a chamber in the rotor. Many chambers lead to a good blockage. But if the grain increases, the height of webs must be reduced. So, shooting will therefore be possible.

To get an improvement in the accuracy of the dosing, it is essential to know and regulate the speed of the dosed material; that means it has the same speed as the transportation mean. Thus, upon shooting of the material (also known as flushing in the art), the material has to be deaccelerated down to the known speed of the dosing device’s tool (belt, rotor) as quickly as possible.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

It is an object of the present invention to overcome or at least alleviate one or more of the above problems of the prior art and/or provide the consumer with a useful or commercial choice. i It is an object of the present invention to provide an apparatus for deaccelerating of fluidized material.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for deaccelerating of fluidized material.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide an alternative to the prior art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In a first aspect, the invention relates to an anti-shooting device for deaccelerating of fluidized material. The anti-shooting device comprises

- a frame

- a plurality of elongated attachment elements extending lateral across said frame

- restriction means attached to said attachment element and extending vertical oriented to flow direction substantially transvers to the direction of said attachment elements, and

- a reverse flow preventer arranged such that fluidized material can flow through said attachment elements and said restrictions means, said anti-shooting device arranged such that fluidized material is directed in a direction substantially transvers to said attachment element, said restriction means arranged such that when said fluidized material engages with said restriction means, said material is devented and thus deaccelerated.

The material will deaccelerate by the anti-shooting device due to a combination of different deflections above the webs in the dosing device. The advantage of this setup is that the shooting material is deaccelerated on a short distance. This is achieved by multiple deflections and the jam out of that in between the parts (in any combination) of the anti-shooting device.

The attachment elements are preferably in the form of rods.

The restriction means may be in the form of chains.

In another embodiment, the restriction means may be in the form of curtains.

The restriction means may be in the form of flaps.

In yet another embodiment, the flaps may be fixed to said attachment elements or swing on said rods.

The flaps may be stiff or flexible with respect to their own stiffness.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the restriction means may be in the form of a combination of chains and/or curtains and/or flaps.

The material is mostly coarse-grained with powdery parts. Due to segregation, the powdery part could lead to nests, which then start shooting when they are near the silo outlet.

In a second aspect, the invention relates to a method of deaccelerating of fluidized material. The method comprises the steps of

- directing a flow of fluidized material in a direction substantially transvers to attachment elements, said attachment elements extending laterally across a frame

- deaccelerating the flow of said fluidized material by means of restriction means attached to said attachment elements and extending vertical oriented to flow direction substantially transvers to the direction of said attachment elements. The method may further comprise the step of blocking a flow of said fluidized material through said rods and said restrictions means by means of a reverse flow preventer.

In a third aspect, the invention relates to a dosing device, comprising an antishooting device according to any of the embodiments above.

The first, second and third aspects of the present invention may be combined.

In the present context, a number of terms are used in a manner being ordinary to the skilled person. Some of these terms are detailed below:

Reverse flow preventer is preferably used to deflect the incoming material in the right direction and prevent a material flow in the wrong direction. The reverse flow preventer is in a shape and/or dimension that it is arranged to fit into the basic construction with maximum effect.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The figures show one way of implementing the present invention and is not to be construed as being limiting to other possible embodiments falling within the scope of the attached claim set.

Embodiments of the invention, by way of example only, will be described with reference to the accompanying figures in which:

Figure 1 schematically illustrates an anti-shooting device according to the present invention.

Figure 2 schematically illustrates an anti-shooting device according to the present invention from a side view. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In a first aspect, the invention relates to an anti-shooting device 1 for deventing and deaccelerating of fluidized material.

A possible embodiment of the anti-shooting device 1 for deventing and deaccelerating of fluidized material according to the present invention is schematically illustrated in figure 1 .

The anti-shooting device 1 comprises

- a frame 2

- a plurality of elongated attachment elements 3 (e. g. rods) extending lateral across the frame

- restriction means (e. g. chains 4 and/or curtains and/or flaps 7) attached to the attachment elements and extending vertical oriented to flow direction substantially transvers to the direction of the attachment element, and

- a reverse flow preventer 6 (illustrated in figure 2) arranged such that fluidized material must flow through the attachment elements 3 and the restrictions means.

The anti-shooting device is arranged such that fluidized material is directed in a direction 5 substantially transvers to the attachment element. The restriction means are arranged such that when the fluidized material engages with the restriction means 4 and/or flaps 7 in applicable combinations, the material is deaccelerated. The anti-shooting device is arranged in the flowing (shooting) fluidized material. The material isn’t directed by the anti-shooting device in the direction 5, it is transported by the cellular wheel (rotor) or belt.

The material hanging chains devent the material, but they have the effect, that the material splashes in all directions. To collect /settle the material is the task of the flaps. At the end they bring the material to the same speed as the rotor or belt (the transportation device) to achieve a dosage it with high accuracy (see page 1 ).

The attachment elements are preferably in the form of rods 3 as illustrated in figure 1.

In another embodiment of the present invention, the restriction means are in the form of chains or curtains or of flaps. The flaps can be built out of any stiff, elastic material in any shape.

In a preferred embodiment, the flaps can be fixed to the attachment elements or swing on the rods.

The rods have the task to carry/support the chains, flaps, curtains.

The flaps can be stiff or flexible with respect to their own stiffness.

In yet a preferred embodiment of the anti-shooting device according to the present invention, the restriction means are in the form of a combination of chains and/or curtains and/or flaps.

The effect of the combination is not only to devent the fluidized material (which stops the shooting) but also to level and settle the splashing material).

The material which is to be deaccelerated is preferably in powder form but can also be in the form of any combination of grain size and wetness as long as the material has the ability to shoot (flush) or become more or less fluent.

In a second aspect, the invention relates to a method of deaccelerating of fluidized material. The method comprises the steps of

- directing a flow of fluidized material in a direction 5 substantially transvers to attachment elements, said attachment elements extending laterally across a frame - deaccelerating the flow of said fluidized material by means of restriction means attached to said attachment elements and extending vertical oriented to flow direction substantially transvers to the direction of said attachment elements.

In a preferred embodiment, the method also comprises the step of blocking a flow of said fluidized material through said rods and said restrictions means by means of a reverse flow preventer.

The fluidified material coming down from the inlet of the dosing machine, shoots not only in direction 5 but also in the opposite direction, being undesirable to have it. To prevent this flow in opposite direction, a reverse flow preventer 6 is necessary (reduce the height of the rotor’s webs, to create space for the chains and flaps)

In a third embodiment, the invention relates to a dosing device, comprising an antishooting device according to any of the above-mentioned embodiments.

Although the present invention has been described in connection with the specified embodiments, it should not be construed as being in any way limited to the presented examples. It should also be understood that the form of this invention as shown is merely a preferred embodiment. Various changes may be made in the function and arrangement of parts; equivalent means may be substituted for those illustrated and described; and certain features may be used independently from others without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
