Abstract:
Provided in the present application are a hierarchical coding method and apparatus for an image. The method comprises: acquiring the current image block, wherein the current image block uses a 4: 4: 4 sampling format, and the current image block comprises three 2W*2H sampling arrays, one 2W*2H sampling array being used for representing a first chrominance component, one 2W*2H sampling array being used for representing a second chrominance component, and one 2W*2H sampling array being used for representing a brightness component; performing down-sampling on both the first chrominance component and the second chrominance component of the current image block, so as to obtain a base-layer image block, wherein the base-layer image block uses a 4: 2: 0 sampling format; acquiring a differential chrominance image block according to the current image block, wherein the differential chrominance image block comprises some or all chrominance samples of the current image block; coding the base-layer image block to obtain a base-layer code stream; and coding the differential chrominance image block to obtain an enhancement-layer code stream. The present application can guarantee the transmission efficiency of an image, and ensure the quality of the image.
