Abstract:
An air-operated diaphragm spring brake actuator (200) has a pressure plate (228) formed entirely of plastic. The diaphragm (218) is secured to the pressure plate by ultrasonic welding. The pressure plate also has a central hub (246) which centers the opening and receives the actuator rod (230) in press-fit engagement.
