Abstract:
A self-pumping roller bearing is described comprising an inner-ring (1), an outer-ring (4) and a plurality of rolling-elements (2). The inside surface of the outer-ring (4) and the outside surface of the inner-ring (1) have a channel extending in the circumferential direction of the bearing and a group of inclined grooves (6) is cut on the surface of at least one of the inner-rings (1) or outer-rings (4) so that lubricant can be passed from one side of the rolling-elements (2) to their other side to lubricate the bearing surfaces and rolling elements (2). In an alternative construction one or more sets of main loading mother rolling-elements (26, 28, 30) and the same number of one or more sets of smaller diameter separating son rolling-elements (27, 29, 31) are installed in the bearing.
