Abstract:
Process for protecting a SiO2 coating on boundary surfaces of a combustion chamber to which a combustion medium is added comprises adding an additive to the combustion chamber to increase the SiO2 content of the flue gases produced during combustion. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for burning a combustion medium comprising a combustion chamber; a burner for introducing the combustion medium; and a device for introducing an additive. Preferred Features: The additive is an organosilicon compound and/or an ester of silicic acid.
