To provide an energy saving freezer/refrigerator by improving efficiency of a cooling cycle during freezing chamber cooling.
The freezer/refrigerator is provided with a first evaporator 7 in a refrigerating chamber 2, a second evaporator 9 in a freezing chamber 3, a refrigerating chamber cooling cycle 14 provided with a compressor 4, a condenser 5, and the first evaporator 7 in the refrigerating chamber 2, a freezing chamber cooling cycle 15 provided with the compressor 4, the condenser 5, a sub cooler 18, and the second evaporator 9 in the freezing chamber 3, and a change-over means 10 for changing over each cooling cycle. The sub cooler 18 is arranged in the refrigerating chamber 2 so that it can carry out heat exchange. By this, a degree of supercooling of the freezing chamber cooling cycle 15 is secured, and highly efficient operation by improvement of a performance factor is made possible.
