Abstract:
Oral pharmaceutical formulations contain active carbon (15-100%) and a pharmaceutical auxiliary. ACTIVITY : Antithyroid. A preparation was formulated (g) from active carbon (80), dextrin (4), starch (4), starch paste (4), peach glue (4), peach glue paste (3) and magnesium stearate (1) for tableting. When the daily active carbon intake was 1-150 g, no adverse effects were observed, with serum thyroid levels, TT3, TT4, FT3 and FT4, were basically normal. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
