Abstract:
The device has a sensor device for measuring distance and relative speed of a target object in front of the vehicle, a regulator with a distance regulating function that outputs time varying control parameters to drive and/or braking control elements and a jolt limiter for limiting control parameters and/or their changes. A dynamic device detects sudden changes in the traffic situation and restricts the jolt limiter function situation-dependently. The device has a sensor device (14) for measuring distance and relative speed of a target object in front of the vehicle, a regulator (10) with a distance regulating function that outputs time varying control parameters to drive and/or braking control elements (30,32) and a jolt limiter (26) for limiting the control parameters and/or their changes. A dynamic device (34) detects sudden changes in the detected traffic situation and restricts the operation of the jolt limiter depending on the situation.
