Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for assembling and working on an add-on part (15) of a vehicle body (12), which comprises at least one inner panel part (11) and at least one outer panel part (10). According to the invention, machinery and equipment are used for placing the inner panel part (11) and/or the outer panel part (10) on the body in the position subsequently provided for the add-on part (15). Afterwards, a painting of at least the outer panel part (10) or of the inner panel part (11) ensues in at least one step and/or the mounting of an additional part on the inner panel part and/or outer panel part ensues before the inner panel part and the outer panel part are joined to one another to create the add-on part. The inventive method is advantageous in that, for example, the inner panel part (11) and the outer panel part (10) of a vehicle door or the like can be painted differently and that the installation of additional parts can ensue before the final assembly of the vehicle door whereby offering a significantly better accessibility for mounting these built-in parts.
