To reduce a standby power consumed when a dishwasher/dryer is in a standby state compared with a conventional one.
This dishwasher/dryer has such a circuit constitution that a primary coil 11-1 of a power transformer 11 is connected to a commercial AC power supply by a control circuit 23 via a power switching circuit 12 selectively turning on/off and, when the power switching circuit 12 is turned off, the primary coil 11-1 of the power transformer is completely cut off in regard to the commercial AC power supply 10. The control circuit 23 is constituted to be actuated by the output of a rectification circuit 24 provided in the secondary coil side of the power transformer 11 or a charging power of an electric double layer capacitor 25 charged by the output of the rectification circuit 24. After finishing an automatic washing/drying process, the power switching circuit 12 is turned off, so that while the power transformation 11 is cut off to the commercial AC supply 10, this dishwasher/dryer can continue the operation by the charging power of the automatic electric double layer capacitor 25.
