Abstract:
The method involves partially overlapping a detection area (B) of a sensor module (110b) by another detection area (A) of another sensor module (110a) of a radar system, and receiving a transmission signal by the latter module (110a) in a monitoring mode (305), where the signal is transmitted by the former module (110b) to obtain information about the operating condition of the module (110b). The module (110a) is operated based on the operating condition of the module (110b). A frequency modulated continuous wave signal is used as the transmission signal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a radar system for a motor vehicle (2) a control device for a radar system (3) a computer program product for execution of a method of operating a radar system.
