Charging device comprises a rotor roller (4) with conveying prongs (3) arranged directly in front of a pressing plate of a press. Preferred Features: The roller interacts with baffles (10) and strippers for the conveyed material. The prongs are partially immersed in slots formed in the baffles. The strippers form a cage around the roller and the roller runs partly within the cage.
