Electrolytic bath comprises a polymer (I), where the polymer chain exhibits unit A at both the ends. A : unit derived from a diamino compound of formula (R2-N(R1)-R3-NH-C(=X)-NH-R4-N(R5)-R6) (II), (R2-N(R1)-R3-NH-C(=X)-NH-C(=Y1)-NH-R4-N(R5)-R6) (III), R2-N(R1)-R3-NH-C(=X)-NH-R8-NH-C(=X)-NH-R4-N(R5)-R6) (IV), (V), (VI) or (VII); X, Y1 : O or NR; R : H or 1-6C alkyl; Z : O or S; R1, R2, R5, R6 : optionally substituted 1-10C hydrocarbon; R3, R4, R8 : (CH 2) por -[CH 2CH 2O] n1-CH 2CH 2; p : 2-12; n1 : 1-40; L : -(CH 2) r-, -CH 2-CH(OH)-CH 2- or -[CH 2CH 2O] q-CH 2CH 2-; r : 1-12; q : 1-40; and n : integer greater than 0. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the polymer and (2) the galvanic deposition of a bright and plain zinc- or zinc alloy coating, comprising bringing a substrate, which can be coated into the electrolyte bath.
