Abstract:
Use of pure lanthanum oxide as heterogeneous catalyst in the aldol condensation of citral and acetone to pseudoionone, is claimed, where pure lanthanum oxide is obtained by calcining oxygen-containing lanthanum salts at 700[deg] C. An independent claim is included for preparing pseudoionone in liquid phase.
