Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of exerting a high sealing performance by rigidly supporting an auxiliary machine.SOLUTION: A vacuum pump 30 is mounted while one end is inserted in a side wall of a cam carrier 21. Oil is supplied to inside of the vacuum pump 30 from inside of an internal combustion engine 10, and the oil is discharged to inside of the internal combustion engine 10 from inside of the vacuum pump 30. An extension part 40 with such a shape that one part of the side wall extends outward is formed on the internal combustion engine 10. The extension part 40 is formed into a shape covering a portion of the vacuum pump 30 on a lower side in a perpendicular direction and having a recess 43 opened toward the vacuum pump 30. The vacuum pump 30 is located on the extension part 40.
