Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship propulsion device for raising the cooling capacity thereof without increasing the capacity of a water pump.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion device comprises: an exhaust passage for guiding the exhaust gas discharged from a plurality of combustion chambers into an exhaust gas collecting passage, to a catalyst 74 accommodated in a catalyst storage passage; and a cooling water passage 113 for guiding cooling water. The cooling water passage 113 includes: an upstream water passage 118 for guiding the cooling water introduced into the inside of the ship propulsion device by a water pump; and a first parallel water passage 119 and a second parallel water passage 120 connected in parallel with the upstream water passage 118. The cooling water passage 113 feeds the cooling water from the upstream water passage 118 to the first parallel water passage 119 and the second parallel water passage 120 individually, thereby to cool the catalyst storage passage by the first parallel water passage 119 arranged along the catalyst storage passage, and to cool the exhaust gas collecting passage by the second parallel water passage 120 arranged along the exhaust gas collecting passage.
