Abstract:
An insulator (1) for a sparkplug with a sensor function has an insulator upper part (2) and an insulator lower part (4) facing the combustion chamber. In order to be able to have a large degree of freedom for setting the spark position and arranging measuring devices and yet still be as close as possible to conventional sparkplugs in terms of dimensions and connection sizes accompanied by the simplest possible manufacture and assembly, a union nut (7) which has an external thread is attached to the insulator lower part (4). A sparkplug with a sensor function whose housing (8) is provided with a continuous drilled hole (8a) for accommodating an insulator (1) and has at least one measuring device (12) is provided with an insulator (1) of this type which is screwed by means of the union nut (7) into a threaded drilled hole (8b) in the housing (8).
