The present invention relates to a dental implant comprising: a body portion and a head portion integrally formed with said body portion; said body portion having a periphery and said head portion having a non-circular periphery; wherein the non-circular periphery of said head portion is smaller than the periphery of the body portion; and wherein said non-circular periphery of said head portion is characterized by a three-way symmetry.
