Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam follower that can improve a rotational speed while reducing rotational friction and that can reduce running costs while prolonging a period of use.SOLUTION: A cam follower 1 comprises: a hollow rolling element 2; a shaft body 4 that is inserted into a hollow part of the rolling element 2 with a gap 3 and in which one end part 21 protrudes from the rolling element 2; a static pressure gas bearing 7 that is interposed between the rolling element 2 and the shaft body 4 so as to support the rolling element 2 in a radial direction by using gas at a static pressure; and a magnetic bearing 9 that supports the rolling element 2 in a thrust direction by using a magnetic force.
