Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antifouling paint or paint that uses inexpensive raw materials, that can be produced in mass production, and that can prevent the adhesion of aquatic organism without contaminating the ecological environment.SOLUTION: The antifouling paint or paint was made by the following steps: 95 wt.% hydrofluoroether was charged into a stainless steel vessel and heated at a temperature of 20°C to 50°C by electric heating appliances, and 5 wt.% polyfluorocarbon was mixed into the same while warming and stirring; the temperature control was through the use of thermostat and attention was paid for the temperature not to exceed the boiling point; while maintaining the temperature at 20°C to 50°C, agitation was provided for 15 to 20 minutes; an antifouling paint or paint thus produced was packed into a container.
