Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a space for an exhaust passage for gas blown to an impeller and to increase support rigidity of a bearing which receives force of the impeller in a rotary-shaft direction.SOLUTION: A gas bearing spindle 1 includes: a rotary shaft 11, a radial/thrust bearing 40; an impeller 12; an impeller exhaust passage 22 which directly receives exhaust striking on an impeller blade 12a and discharged; a housing 20; and an opposite surface gas feed passage which feeds a gas toward an opposite surface 12b, facing the radial/thrust bearing 40, of the impeller 12. The opposite surface gas feed passage includes: an outer peripheral side gas feed passage 21 which is provided in the housing 20 more on the outer peripheral side than the impeller exhaust passage 22; a far gas feed passage 21b which is connected to the outer peripheral side gas feed passage 21 and radial/thrust bearing 40, and provided in the housing 20 farther away from the impeller exhaust passage 22 when viewed from the impeller 12; and an in-radial-bearing gas feed passage 42a which is connected to the far gas feed passage 21b and a throttle 44c facing the opposite surface 12b, and provided for the radial/thrust bearing 40.
