Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice sheet management system and an ice sheet management method capable of always maintaining an ice sheet in an appropriate state.SOLUTION: An ice sheet management system includes: a brine cooler 16 cooling a cooling medium; a cooling pipe 12 that is arranged on a bottom of an ice sheet 18 and in which the cooling medium flows; a flow volume adjustment unit 14 that can adjust a flow volume of the cooling medium flowing to the cooling pipe 12; and a controller 24. The controller 24 controls the flow volume adjustment unit 14 so that a heat quantity of cold flowing from the cooling pipe 12 in the ice sheet 18 can match a heat quantity of cold flowing from a surface layer portion of the ice sheet 18 out into the atmosphere.
