Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of damage on an end part of a sheet bundle when pressurizing a back of the sheet bundle for flattening, and to suppress occurrence of wrinkle or the like.SOLUTION: A saddle stitching bookbinding device 2 includes a folding roller pair 230 for folding a sheet bundle SB, a back surface pressurizing roller 250 which pressurizes a back surface folding part SB3 of the sheet bundle SB having been folded by the folding roller pair 230, for flattening, and a unit moving mechanism 245 which reciprocates the back surface pressurizing roller 250 in the direction (folding direction) parallel to the back surface folding part SB3 of the sheet bundle SB. The back surface pressurizing roller 250, when making outward travel, starts pressurizing from around a central part (preset position) SBc in the folding line direction of the sheet bundle SB, and releases pressurizing after passing through one end part SB2 of the sheet bundle SB. When making return travel, pressurizing is started from around the central part (preset position) SBc, and an end part of the other SB2 of the sheet bundle SB is passed through.
