Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-cooled engine which inhibits vibration of a cover body covering a suction port of cooling air thereby enabling the cover body to be stably supported on the engine.SOLUTION: An air-cooled engine 1 includes: a cooling fan 12 which is attached to one end part of a crank shaft 4 and feeds cooling air CA suctioned from an air suction port 13 to a cylinder block 2 and a muffler 8; and a fuel tank 9 disposed below a crank case 3. The crank case 3 has the air suction port 13 which opens to the other end part of the crank shaft 4. The air-cooled engine 1 further includes: a cover body 20 which extends from an area near an outer periphery of the air suction port 13 to the other end part along an outer peripheral surface 3a of the crank case 3 and blocks foreign objects from intruding into the air suction port 13; and an elastic body 24 attached to the cover body 20. The cover body 20 is supported between the fuel tank 9 and the crank case 3 in a state that the elastic body 24 makes pressure contact with the fuel tank 9.
