Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop type heat pipe which includes a flat plate type evaporator, and which improves cooling performance by circulating a working fluid in a loop efficiently.SOLUTION: A loop type heat pipe includes: an evaporator 2 for cooling by utilizing latent heat when a liquid refrigerant 7L evaporates; and a reservoir 6 for storing the liquid 7L which has moved from a condenser via a liquid return pipe 5 so as to supply it to the evaporator 2. The evaporator 2 has: a container body 21 which is formed in a container structure 8 and in which an opening 31 of a steam pipe 3 is connected on a side wall 23; a groove member 40 in which a recess 41 and a protrusion 42 are provided; and a wick 10 which comes into contact with the surface of the protrusion 42. The loop type heat pipe also incudes a steam flow passage C formed in a gap between the wick 10 and the groove member 40. The wick 10 has a step part 13 which has a level difference from a flat plate part 11. In a steam exhaust chamber A partitioned by the step part 13, the side wall 23 of the evaporator 2 and the groove member 40, the opening 31 of the steam pipe 3 is opened.
