Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which can sufficiently draw out a necessary heat source for melting frost attached to an outdoor heat exchanger while securing reliability of a compressor, and which thereby shortens defrosting operation time.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes: a compressor 3; an outdoor heat exchanger 5 and an outdoor expansion valve 6. Also, the air conditioner includes: a defrosting bypass circuit 15 for connecting refrigerant piping 26 on the discharge side of the compressor and refrigerant piping 27 for connecting an outdoor heat exchanger and an outdoor expansion valve; an expansion valve 12 for defrosting provided in the defrosting bypass circuit; discharge pressure detection means 18 for detecting pressure on the discharge side of the compressor; and a control device 17 for controlling an opening of the expansion valve for defrosting. When performing a defrosting operation of the outdoor heat exchanger, this control device opens the expansion valve for defrosting and totally closes the outdoor expansion valve, and furthermore, controls the opening of the expansion valve for defrosting according to a discharge pressure value detected by the discharge pressure detection means.
