Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for actualizing a strong binding process with space-saving constitution without greatly lowering the throughput.SOLUTION: A sheet binding device includes a conveyance part, an adhesive imparting part, a press part, a sheet-count information acquisition part, and a press control part. The adhesive imparting part applies an adhesive to the upper surface of a sheet each time the sheet is loaded on a tray, and the press part presses the upper surface of a second sheet loaded on the first sheet having been applied with the adhesive by the adhesive imparting part so as to bond the first sheet and second sheet together. The sheet-count information acquisition part acquires sheet-count information representing the number of sheets forming a sheet bundle to be bundled by bonding, and the press control part presses a sheet bundle of the first number of loaded sheets with first press force on the basis of the sheet-count information acquired by the sheet-count information acquisition part, and also presses a sheet bundle of the second number of sheets, having sheets loaded additionally on the sheet bundle of the first number of sheets, with second press force larger than the first press force.
