Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a use feeling and safety of ophthalmic composition liquid for use in a contact lens.SOLUTION: An ophthalmic composition liquid according to the present invention is used for improving a refractive index of a contact lens and contains: polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene glycol in which a ratio EO/PO of an average degree of polymerization (EO) of ethylene oxide to an average degree of polymerization (PO) of propylene oxide falls within the range of 1.0 or greater and 5.0 or less; one or more selected from a polyvalent carboxylic acid and the polyvalent carboxylic acid; and an algefacient. The ophthalmic composition liquid has an IC50 value of 1.0% or greater, and a concentration of dibutyl hydroxytoluene (BHT) in the composition liquid of less than 1.5 ppm. The ophthalmic composition liquid may be used for a soft contact lens and a hard contact lens, and more particularly, the ophthalmic composition liquid is more preferable to be used for a hard contact lens fabricated by a molding method.
