PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rim molding method capable of shortening time required for spinning machining for thinning a predetermined part of a rim, and suppressing the generation of wrinkles, shrinkage, and buckling during roll machining.SOLUTION: In a rim molding method, after a flare process, a first roll process for forming the outlines of a recessed portion 66 and roll intermediate forming portions 63, 64, and 67 is executed. Then, before executing a second roll process, a roll mold body 51 molded in the first roll process is held by the recessed portion 66 to be positioned in a front-and-back direction, thereby executing a spinning process for thinning the whole or a part of the roll intermediate forming portions 63, 64, and 67. After that, the second roll process and a third roll process are carried out. The spinning process for thinning is carried out after the first roll process, so that the deformation amount of the roll mold body 51 is small in the spinning process. Consequently, a load due to roll machining after the spinning machining can be reduced, and the generation of wrinkles, shrinkage, and buckling during the roll machining can be suppressed.
