Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, when cutting a part of a paper sheet, imperfections such fuzzing and bending from occurring at cut parts.SOLUTION: A post-processing apparatus comprises: a paper conveyance unit for conveying one or more paper sheets; a cutting unit for cutting a paper sheet along the conveyance direction of the paper sheet conveyed by the paper conveyance unit; and a paper piece conveyance unit for conveying pieces of paper after being cut by the cutting unit. The post-processing apparatus can set the conveyance speed of the paper piece conveyance unit faster than the conveyance speed of the paper conveyance unit, for example, the post-processing apparatus checks the side-by-side run state of the paper sheet conveyed by the paper conveyance unit and the paper pieces conveyed by the paper piece conveyance unit to see if the side-by-side run state is maintained. If it is determined that the side-by-side run state is not maintained, the post-processing apparatus sets the conveyance speed of the paper piece conveyance unit faster than the conveyance speed of the paper conveyance unit, so that the post-processing apparatus can prevent fuzzing and bending at cut surfaces to enable stable cutting and maintain excellent quality of deliverables.
