Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing or generating a delay value of a communication electronic unit with a delay chain.SOLUTION: Described are a method and a corresponding device for providing a delay value of a communication electronic unit, where a digital input signal is delayed by a delay element. The input and output signals of the delay element are sampled and the sampled signals are compared. A mismatch counter M is incremented when amplitudes of the two sampled signals are not equal. A signal transition counter N is incremented when the input signal transitions. A delay value provided is proportional to a mismatch measurement value and to a sampling interval, and is inversely proportional to a signal transition measurement value.
