Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a power transmission system and an engine compact in size and to achieve a low center of gravity of the engine, in an internal combustion engine having a motor generator.SOLUTION: A motor generator 9 is arranged at one side of an engine body 3, and a belt 19 is trained on a crank pulley 18, a motor generator pulley 15 and an idle pulley 30. The belt 19 is sandwiched by tension pulleys 29a, 29b of a pendulum-type automatic tensioner 28 from up-and-down directions at both sides of the motor generator pulley 15. An engine can be made compact in size by bringing the idle pulley 30 close to the motor generator 9 side. The engine can be made low in a center of a gravity by displacing the motor generator 9 downwardly as much as possible while equalizing the tension of an upper part 19a and a lower part 19b of the belt 19 by separating the upper-side tension pulley 29 from the lower-side tension pulley 29b.
