Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which, when a sheet bundle is divided so as not to exceed the upper limit value of the thickness to be bound with a binder, can bring the thickness of each sheet bundle after division close to the equal thickness in comparison with a case where the thickness for each sheet is not measured.SOLUTION: Setting means 101 calculates the division number of an unbound sheet bundle from the thickness of the unbound sheet bundle that is not bound with a binder among the sheet bundles formed in accordance with a print instruction designating the type and the number of sheets and the upper limit value of the thickness of the sheet bundle to be bound with the binder, and sets the target value of the thickness of the sheet bundle after division on the basis of the value obtained by dividing the thickness of the unbound sheet bundle with the division number. Acquisition means 102 acquires the measurement value of the thickness of the sheets conveyed one by one. Formation means 103 piles up the conveyed sheets and forms the sheet bundle whose thickness obtained from the measurement value becomes equal to or less than the target value. Instruction means 104 instructs a binding device to bind the sheet bundle formed by the formation means 103 with the binder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
