Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved post-cure sealant layer for a pneumatic tire.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 10 comprises a radially outer circumferential rubber tread 14 disposed on a supporting carcass 17, an inner liner rubber layer 22 radially inside disposed on the supporting carcass 17, and a sealant layer 20 adhering to and disposed inside the rubber inner liner layer 22 as a radially inner surface of the tire. The sealant layer 20 comprises 100 parts by weight of an ionomer, and 100 to 900 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the ionomer (phr), of a diluent. In a pneumatic tire 10, the ionomer is the reaction product of a halobutyl rubber and a nucleophile represented by formula (I).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
