PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical device that efficiently suppresses a fluctuation in aberration due to a variation in installation position in lens groups constituting a projection optical system, and a projector including the projection optical device.SOLUTION: In a projection optical device 5 including a plurality of lens groups (first lens group L1 to fourth lens group 4), the lens group including an aperture 648 (fourth lens group L4) has a lens frame (fourth lens frame 64) divided between the aperture 648 and a lens adjacent to the aperture 648 (eighth lens L42), one of the divided lens frames (second divided frames 642) includes an adjustment part 646 that adjustably holds the position of an optical axis C with the other of the divided lens frames (first divided frame 641).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
