Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass fiber heat insulating sound absorber for an automobile engine room which has chipping resistance performance, is reduced in weight and prevents sound absorption coefficient deterioration due to resonance phenomenon in the neighborhood of 3,000 to 4,000 Hz, and to provide a method of using the glass fiber heat insulating sound absorber.SOLUTION: A glass fiber heat insulating sound absorber 1 includes a flexible part 2 and a high rigid part 3 which are formed by entangling a plurality of glass fibers and are superposed on each other. Therein, a density of the flexible part 2 is higher than 80 kg/mand is 100 kg/mor less, and a density of the high rigid part 3 is 120 to 300 kg/mand a bending elastic modulus is 150 to 500 MPa.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
