Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic relay capable of keeping a contact device under an open state when abnormal current such as overcurrent and short-circuit current flows in the contact device.SOLUTION: A trip device 4 moves a movable element 32 to a third position by a magnetic flux which occurs in a second exciting coil 41 due to abnormal current of a specified value or more flowing through a contact device 2 under a state that the movable element 32 is located at a first position. A retainer 7 has a holding magnet 71 formed of a permanent magnet. The retainer 7 is configured to hold the movable element 32 at the third position by the magnetic flux occurring in the holding magnet 71 when the trip device 4 moves the movable element 32 to the third position. Here, the holding magnet 71 is disposed at the opposite side to a stator 33 with respect to the movable element 32 in one direction along which the stator 33 and the movable element 32 are aligned with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
