PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in order to efficiently use a die set until the end of its life is reached, periodical maintenance work by a user is required, in particular, lubrication work, including lubricating the die set with lubrication oil for every predetermined number of times of drilling is indispensable.SOLUTION: There are provided an image forming apparatus connected with a sheet punching device performing punching processing on sheets and a control method of the same, the control method comprising: acquiring die set information including at least identification information for specifying a die set attached to the sheet punching device from the die set; counting the number of times of punching processing executed using the die set in association with the die set information; and when the counted number of times of punching processing exceeds a threshold, controlling to urge a user to lubricate the die set.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
