Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of productivity by reducing a needless waiting-time when a process at a post-processing apparatus occurs while a sheet is continuously inserted in the other post-processing apparatus with respect to the sheet conveyed from an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming system continuously inserts a plurality of sheets in a side stitching device having a sheet insertion part between transfer papers conveyed from an image forming apparatus. The image forming system measures the time from the sheet feed of a first sheet of the insertion sheet to the last sheet feed, and a discharge timing of the transfer sheet conveyed from the image forming apparatus is determined based on the measured time. When a ring bind process occurs at the other post-processing device, while the insertion sheet is continuously inserted in the side stitching device, the measurement time from the sheet feed of the first insertion paper to the ring bind process completion is cleared, and the time from the sheet feed of the insertion sheet initially inserted after the completion of the ring bind process till the last sheet feed is measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
