Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire having an outer peripheral tread having a tread travel surface.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire having an outer peripheral tread contains a peripheral direction tread composition containing a reinforcement filler which contains unique combination of solution-prepared and emulsion-prepared styrene/butadiene elastomer, and a specific combination of a plurality of traction promotion resins and selected carbon black and preliminarily hydrophobized precipitated silica, where the traction resin contains a polyester phthalate resin, a styrene/alpha-methylstyrene resin, gum rosin and a coumarone-indene resin, and the preliminarily hydrophobized precipitated silica is treated with at least one of alkoxy organic mercaptosilane and bis(3-trialkoxysilyl organic) polysulfide (containing 2 to 4 connection sulfur atoms in the polysulfide bridge on the average).SELECTED DRAWING: None
