Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protection air bag device capable of inhibiting blockage of deployment of an air bag by straps in a configuration having the air bag that has the straps and is deployed on the front side of a windshield in the vehicle longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: An air bag device 30 includes an air bag 35, straps 36, 37 and strap covers 38, 39. The air bag 35 is accommodated in a cowl portion 20 and is deployed on a front surface side of a windshield glass 16 to cover the cowl portion 20 and at least a part of front pillars 12, 14. The straps 36, 37 have one end sides each mounted to an upper portion in a vehicle vertical direction on an outer surface 45 of the air bag 35 and the other end sides each mounted to the cowl portion 20, and are inserted between the air bag 35 and the strap covers 38, 39. The strap covers 38, 39 are sewn to the outer surface 45 of the air bag 35 to cover the straps 36, 37.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
