Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule capable of suppressing an optical fiber holding hole and a guide hole from deforming owing to heat.SOLUTION: A ferrule according to one embodiment is a ferrule 1 of an optical connector opposed to an opposite-side connector. The ferrule 1 comprises an end part 1a having an optical fiber holding hole 2 into which an optical fiber is inserted to be held, and a guide hole 3 into which a guide pin for positioning with the opposite-side connector is inserted. The end part 1a has a first part R1 including an opening of the optical fiber holding hole 2 and an opening of the guide hole 3, a second part R2 as a part other than the first part R1, and a low-heat-conductivity part R3 having lower heat conductivity than the first part R1 and second part R2. The low-heat-conductivity part R3 is in direct contact with the first part R1. The second part R2 is in direct contact with the low-heat-conductivity part R3, and located on the opposite side from the first part R1 across the low-heat-conductivity part R3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
