Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device that can reduce the occurrence of color irregularities, and a projector.SOLUTION: A light source device 4 comprises: a light source part 41; a diffusion device 45 on which at least part of light of emission light from the light source part is made incident, and diffuses the part of light to be emitted; a wavelength conversion device 51 on which the other part of light of the emission light from the light source part is made incident, and diffuses conversion light having a different wavelength from that of the other part of light to be emitted; a light combining device 52 that combines the part of light diffused by the diffusion device and the conversion light emitted from the wavelength conversion device; and an auxiliary diffusion element 44 that is located between the light source part and diffusion device on a light path of the part of light, and diffuses the part of light to be made incident on the diffusion device. The light path of the part of light from the light source part to the wavelength conversion device is longer than the light path of the part of light from the light source part to the diffusion device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
