Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction clutch capable of attaining a μ-V characteristic of a positive gradient without any lubricant.SOLUTION: A friction clutch includes a tabular disc, and a friction brush provided substantially perpendicularly to a surface of the disc. The friction brush is composed of a plurality of columnar friction materials 3, and with friction force occurring in contacting an end part of each friction material 3 to a mating member, force is transmitted between the disc and the mating member. Each friction material 3 includes: a fiber bundle part 33 formed by stranding a plurality of fibers 32; a thermoplastic resin part 34 covering the periphery of the fiber bundle part 33 and bundling the plurality of fibers 32; and a tubular rubber part 35 covering the periphery of the resin part 34.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
