Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric booster in which an electric motor can be reduced in size, in the electric booster for alleviating brake operation force by the electric motor.SOLUTION: An electric booster alleviates brake operation force when pressure-sending brake fluid to a wheel cylinder from a master cylinder. The device comprises: a brake rod for pressing a piston in the master cylinder; a rack gear connected to the brake rod; and a pinion gear engaged with the rack gear. When the pinion gear is rotated in a direction in which a pressure of the brake fluid is increased, a distance from a rotation center of the pinion gear up to a point at which the pinion gear is engaged with the rack gear is shortened. In a region in which operation of a brake operation member is small, a ratio of a moving amount of the rack gear with respect to a rotation angle of the pinion gear is large, and in a region in which the operation of the brake operation member is large, the ratio is small. The electric motor can be reduced in size after a required characteristic resulting from a brake rigidity characteristic is fulfilled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
