Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base paper for a water-absorbing sheet which has excellent water absorption property and shape retention property after water absorption with high productivity and a water-absorbing sheet using the base paper for a water-absorbing sheet.SOLUTION: Provided are a base paper for a water-absorbing sheet containing a substrate layer and a water absorption layer, and a water-absorbing sheet using same, wherein the substrate layer and the water absorption layer are both composed of pulp fibers; the substrate layer contains a size agent of 0.01 mass% or more and less than 0.3 mass%; Cobb water absorption degree of the water absorption layer is 15-65 g/m; a freeness of the pulp fibers constituting the water absorption layer is 350-500 ml; the freeness of the pulp fibers constituting the substrate layer is 30-150 ml smaller than the freeness the pulp fibers constituting the water absorption layer.SELECTED DRAWING: None
