Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide structure for a speed reducer with an electric motor, the structure allowing for detection of load including torque around a center axis applied to an output part.SOLUTION: The speed reducer with an electric motor has: a hollow shaft which extends axially around a first center axis; a cylindrical casing which is fixed to the hollow shaft; a fixed part which is stationary relatively to the casing; the electric motor which cause a second center axis parallel with the first center axis to generate rotational motion in radially outside the hollow shaft; a speed reducing mechanism which reduces the rotational motion generated by the electric motor and transmits the reduced rotational motion; an output part which rotates around the first center axis at the reduced number of revolutions; and a torque sensor which is connected to the casing and fixed part. The torque sensor has an elastically deformable strain inducer which has an outer and an inner annular ring, and a plurality of strain sensors. The outer ring is located at a radially outer end part of the torque sensor, and connected to one of the casing and fixed part, and the inner ring is located at a radially inner end part of the torque sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
