Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize fuel consumption for the entire vehicle during engine operation in a hybrid vehicle.SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle comprises: an engine; a motor generator; a battery electrically connected to the motor generator; and an ECU configured to calculate a battery equivalent fuel economy. In a case where, during engine operation, request power is smaller than a reference power with which the heat efficiency of the engine has the optimum value, the ECU renders engine power close to the reference power by adding engine generated power (charged power of a battery) to the request power. At this time, the ECU searches, as the optimum engine generation power, engine generation power with which vehicle fuel consumption to which an actual fuel consumption for the engine and an equivalent fuel consumption for the battery are added is smallest, and outputs from the engine a value obtained by adding the optimum engine generation power to the request power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
