Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring out maximum activity of a hydrogenation catalyst in a production method of hydrogen peroxide using anthraquinones.SOLUTION: A production method of hydrogen peroxide includes: a step (A) for supplying a hydrogenation reactor with an actuation solution containing anthraquinones and a solvent, and a hydrogenation catalyst; a hydrogenation step (B) for supplying a rich hydrogen gas and reducing the anthraquinones to form anthrahydroquinones in the hydrogenation reactor; a step (C) for discharging the actuation solution containing the anthrahydroquinones and the solvent, and a lean hydrogen gas from the hydrogenation reactor; an oxidation step (D) for converting the anthrahydroquinones in the discharged actuation solution to anthraquinones to produce hydrogen peroxide; an extraction step (E) for separating the hydrogen peroxide from the actuation solution; and a circulation step (F) for returning at least part of the actuation solution from which the hydrogen peroxide is extracted to the step (B). The production method further includes a step (G) for maintaining the water concentration in the actuation solution at 20%-160% of saturation in the step (B).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
