PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of generating cells which secrete neurotrophic factors.SOLUTION: Cells which secrete neurotrophic factors are generated by incubating a population of undifferentiated mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in a differentiating medium comprising basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), platelet derived growth factor (PDGF), heregulin and cAMP.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 25
